Concrete Trenching for Utilities and Drainage

From slab to open trench: how professional concrete trenching works and what to expect.

01Cut first, then remove

A clean trench through a slab starts with two parallel saw cuts defining the trench edges. The concrete between them is then broken and removed — because the edges were sawn, the surrounding slab stays intact and the patch line is straight.

02Common trenching jobs

Under-slab plumbing and drainage, conduit runs, sump systems, floor drains and utility services in basements, garages, warehouses and commercial floors. Interior trenching uses dust-controlled, water-fed saws to keep the space workable.

03What to have ready

The trench path marked or described, known locations of in-slab services (or scanning arranged), and a plan for spoil — we handle removal and haul-out when it is in scope.
